Medal of Honor recipient Leo Thorsness was a USAF F-105 fighter pilot with the 357th Tactical Fighter Squadron during the Vietnam War. He was shot down on April 30, 1967 and spent six years as a POW in North Vietnam.

Lester Rentmeester served as a B-17 pilot with the 324th Bomb Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force during World War II. After the war, Lester served in the Air Force working in photo reconnaissance until retiring in 1972.

Thomas Griffin (1916-2013) was a B-25 navigator on the #9 plane of the Doolittle Raid attack on Japan in April 1942. After the raid he was assigned to B-26s with the 319th Bomb Group in N. Africa, where he was shot down and spent 22 months as a POW.
