Doug Holt was only 19 years old when he went into combat flying B-17s with the 534th Bomb Squadron of the 381st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force during World War II. At only 5 feet 4 inches tall, he was also one of the shortest B-17 pilots of the war!

Harold Olsen (1921-2009) was a B-17 copilot with the 95th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force during World War II. His plane was shot down on his very first mission, March 16, 1944, and Harold become a POW in Stalag Luft III for the duration of the war.

Thomas Griffin (1916-2013) was a B-25 navigator on the #9 plane of the Doolittle Raid attack on Japan in April 1942. After the raid he was assigned to B-26s with the 319th Bomb Group in N. Africa, where he was shot down and spent 22 months as a POW.

Lester Rentmeester served as a B-17 pilot with the 324th Bomb Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group, 8th Air Force during World War II. After the war, Lester served in the Air Force working in photo reconnaissance until retiring in 1972.
