Pete Groves became a commercial pilot at age 19. He progressed up to flying 747s for Air Atlanta Icelandic, including landing at AirVenture in 2002. He now flies for the Royal Family of Dubai and is building a 1931 Laird Super Solution replica.

Ron Herron first became interested in flying when he built a Bensen B-8M gyrocopter kit and taught himself to fly it in 1975. He has since developed and marketed his own series of homebuilt tractor-style autogyros called Little Wing Autogyros.

Ray Stits (1921-2015) is a legend in the homebuilt aircraft community. Designer of 15 airplanes, Ray was also the developer/founder of the Poly-Fiber aircraft coating process. In 1953, he joined EAA (#136 Lifetime) and founded EAA Chapter 1.

Lou Stolp was an aircraft mechanic before serving as a B-17 tailgunner with the 429th Squadron of the 2nd Bomb Group during WWII. He later designed the Stolp Starduster, Starduster II, Starlet, V-Star, Super Starduster and AcroDuster II airplanes.

Mike Loehle is the founder of Loehle Aircraft and Aero Coatings Corporation. He got his start in aviation building parts for ultralights in the 1970s, and then progressed into manufacturing aircraft kits such as the 5151 Mustang and Sport Parasol.
